Rodders rally for Leukaemia Foundation

CLASSIC cars from around the state are set to descend on Hamilton today to ‘Cruise for Chris’ and help raise money for a good cause.

The CBD will be a hive of activity from 5pm tonight as Hamilton hosts a street meet and cruise for vintage and classic vehicles through the main streets.

Organiser, Amber Savaro said everyone was welcome to take their pride and joy for a cruise and help raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

“This is a street cruise for pretty much anyone and everyone … I’m hoping we’ll have anything and everything from your mum’s Commodore to a fancy HQ cruising up the main street,” she said.

“One of our club (South West Street Rodders) members, Christine (Johnson), has come down with leukaemia … and her kids are doing the World’s Greatest Shave next month.

“With COVID cancelling everything for the last year, we just thought it was a good time to get the cars out for a cruise for her and hopefully raise a bit of money that we can put towards their shave.”
