Vintage locomotive derailed 

THE return of passenger rail to Hamilton this weekend has been derailed by the decision makers at the Australian Rail Track Corporation. A visit by the fully restored, original 1937 ‘Spirit of Progress’ train that was scheduled to ferry passengers between Hamilton and Dunkeld, Heywood and Portland over the weekend of November 11-13, has been postponed due to safety concerns. AN opportunity to travel by passenger rail to and from Hamilton this weekend on a vintage locomotive, the ‘Spirit of Progress’, has been derailed by the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), who decided not to grant approval.
