Reeds cleaned up at Lake Hamilton 

One machine is similar to a little barge with cutters on the front which trims reeds, slicing through the stems just above ground level and helping to keep growth under control, while the other machine picks up the cuttings and then dumps them on the side of the lake. Photo: LARA FITZPATRICK.

TWO water reed machines were spotted at Lake Hamilton this week, helping to tidy up predominately the lake’s edges.
