‘Gringy’ locals getting fire ready 

SPENDING a Sunday afternoon getting their private mobile tank-and-pump units checked by the CFA for integration into a comprehensive firefighting strategy was a large group of locals at Gringegalgona to the north-west of Hamilton. With the fire season about to arrive and CFA volunteer numbers down, a process for checking and registering private equipment was delivered that will help keep their community safe. WITH summer just around the corner and the potential for a difficult fire season likewise part of that, Gringegalgona CFA captain, John Dundon, organised an afternoon last weekend seeking to facilitate farmers and property owners engaging quickly in emergency fire situations with their own equipment.
