Friday and Saturday’s southerly flow carried the remnants of winter’s bitter chill, but the promise of warmer days ahead as patches of sunshine warmed competitors in the weekend events; just enough so that layers were peeled off only to be donned again as the clouds periodically eclipsed the sun.
