$150m rail project a step closer

UPGRADE project management on the local rail track including replacing the sleepers set to start next month. $150 million was allocated by the Federal Government and the project is expected to take three years. The works will better connect the line to the ARTC freight network by increasing speed and weight limits, and would potentially enable the reintroduction of passenger trains. See story on page 2.
