Local swimmers step up to the blocks for winter short course 

HAMILTON Olympic Swimming Club (HOSC) members have covered themselves in glory at the Winter Short Course meet held at Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre (HILAC) last weekend.

Umpires get the call up for interleague clash 

WITHOUT umpires, we don’t have games of football every weekend and tomorrow is no exception as four local umpires were selected to officiate the Hampden Football Netball League (HFNL) interleague matches against Ballarat Football Netball League (BFNL) at Reid Oval.

KANGAROOS TRIO 

THREE Hamilton Kangaroos senior footballers have been selected in the final Under-23 team to represent the Hampden Football Netball League (HFNL) under coach, Jonathan Brown at Warrnambool’s Reid Oval tomorrow afternoon.

CLOSE BATTLES IN SOUTH WEST NETBALL 

THREE out of the four South West District Netball League A grade match ups were decided by 11 goals or less on Saturday, reflecting the closeness of the competition this season.

Magpies overcome Roos in inaccurate display 

HAMILTON Kangaroos copped their ninth loss of the year on Saturday as they were convincingly defeated by 34 points against Camperdown in round 11 of the Hampden Football Netball League (HFNL) senior football at Leura Oval.

GLENTHOMPSON-DUNKELD enters its second derby game in the last three rounds of the Mininera and District Netball Association A grade competition, when the Rams travel to Hawkesdale Recreation Reserve to battle Hawkesdale-Macarthur for not only the premiership points, but the bragging rights as well.

BUNKER SHOTS 

SIXTY-FIVE men and 11 women played in Saturday’s stableford competition, where the A grade winner was Mal Groves with a very good score of 38 points, winning by two points from John Hill who claimed runner-up on a countback from Ben Kelson, both on 36 points.
