Derby awaits Eagles and Rams 

GLENTHOMPSON-DUNKELD enters its second derby game in the last three rounds of the Mininera and District Netball Association A grade competition, when the Rams travel to Hawkesdale Recreation Reserve to battle Hawkesdale-Macarthur for not only the premiership points, but the bragging rights as well.

BUNKER SHOTS 

SIXTY-FIVE men and 11 women played in Saturday’s stableford competition, where the A grade winner was Mal Groves with a very good score of 38 points, winning by two points from John Hill who claimed runner-up on a countback from Ben Kelson, both on 36 points.

Blue and White continue youth policy 

HAMILTON KANGAROOS will travel to Leura Oval in Camperdown to do battle continue to promote its youth for the remainder of the Hampden Football Netball League season as the club looks to build a squad of talented youngsters who will stand the club in good stead for the foreseeable future.

SOUTHERN Grampians Shire Council has ratified the 2024-2025 budget on Wednesday morning at its unscheduled council meeting and Pedrina Park will see some much-needed upgrades to the facility.

HAWKESDALE-MACARTHUR suffered a huge upset on Saturday as Lismore-Derrinallum held firm at Lismore Recreation Reserve to win, 13.10 (88) to 11.13 (79).

ROOS NO MATCH FOR BOMBERS 

HAMILTON KANGAROOS Open netball squad was no match for Cobden on Saturday in round 10 of the Hampden Football Netball League as the Kangaroos hosted the Bombers at Hawkesdale Recreation Reserve.

DEFENCE KNOCKS ROOS OUT OF CONTEST 

AN incredible defensive effort from Cobden has seen the Hamilton Kangaroos stopped in their tracks after resuming for the third term where the home side added only a single behind for the entire second half as the Bombers took out the Hampden Football Netball League round 10 match, 13.11 (89) to 6.4 (40).

THE abnormally dry conditions in the district have provided some upside for golfers with the still green fairways providing plenty of run.

HAMILTON basketballers, Taima Thomas and Emily Iredell were recently announced in the Under-14 Vic Country squads to compete at the Country Metro Challenge (CMC) in Bendigo this coming weekend.
